Cecil Murphey:

Writing From Who You Are

Writer, teacher, mentor, missionary, pastor, and servant, Cecil Murphey has performed all these roles and more. In the past twenty years Cecil has written more books and articles than most people read. Whether ghost-writing the autobiography of Franklin Graham or Shaun Alexander, Murphey’s words are inspirational, practical, and most of all, real. Helping each author find their unique voice and develop their own writing style is what makes each story come alive.

They say that each person has a book inside them. How fortunate we as readers are that Cecil has the exceptional ability to coax these stories from the people who lived them. Cecil has written or co-written 106 books and 700 articles. His book 90 Minutes in Heaven (written for Don Piper) has sold almost 2 million copies and been on the New York Times’ best-seller list since 2006. Some of his books have been optioned for movies. All of his writing has touched many lives in untold ways.

Undoubtedly Murphey’s varied vocations and life experiences have honed his exceptional talent. How privileged we are as writers to enjoy this opportunity to learn from a master. Come hear Cecil discuss how personality tests such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator can help you find your own voice. After all, you cannot be a great story teller unless you first know yourself and find your voice.
